sorry to bring it up once again, but I would like to clarify my point and it
could also be in your advantage.

Indeed you are right there, that why I said that when cross-compiling it was
not relevant, but I did not want to dismiss the advantages you just pointed
out.
Actually my point was that when compiling from source there should be support
for different libraries, so if you wish you can compile a emdebian adapted
source package with glibc, or uclibc, or newlib, ... if you want, and that for
different platforms. (cross or native compilation).
But the standard or official binary packages would be compiled with uclibc
because of size constraints to reach as much people as possible.
