Completely agree. There should be no forcing to use one or
another interface if the choice is available ... not to say that I
prefer VM over Gnus :)

If you need more votes, count up with mine. This is, I think,
the correct sollution. Perhaps more ideas could be thrown in the
future for easing offline access to the BTS, like it was proposed
before.
