grub-install does not use efibootmgr any more.

     Sledge's suggestion, namely:

https://wiki.debian.org/UEFI#Force_grub-efi_installation_to_the_removable_media_path

     worked like a charm.

The proposal to enable this automatically during installation is stillpending.
