I'm currently testing builds of the latest shim release (15.6) on all
3 platforms (amd64, i386 and arm64). It now builds reproducibly on
arm64, given a new enough toolchain, so I'll be marking this bug as
closed when I upload.

< Aardvark> I dislike C++ to start with. C++11 just seems to be
handing rope-creating factories for users to hang multiple
            instances of themselves.
