The linked procedure is:

# mount -t efivarfs efivarfs /sys/firmware/efi/efivars
# rm /sys/firmware/efi/efivars/dump-*

Then reinstall grub (adapt to your installation):
# update-grub
# grub-install -v --target=x86_64-efi --recheck /dev/sda
