Hi all, Bug#1107375 points out that stanzas are missing to build binary packages for Indonesian, Polish, Russian, Swedish and Tamil. The current translation status for the Debian Edu manuals is as follows: For Debian Edu bookworm ======================= debian-edu-bookworm-manual.da.po: 59 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.de.po: 95 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.es.po: 99 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.fr.po: 99 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.id.po: 94 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.it.po: 99 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.ja.po: 71 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.nb-no.po: 57 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.nl.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.pl.po: 29 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.pt-br.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.pt.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.pt-pt.po: 99 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.ro.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.ru.po: 27 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.sv.po: 72 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.ta.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.uk.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-bookworm-manual.zh-cn.po: 78 % translated For Debian Edu trixie ===================== debian-edu-trixie-manual.da.po: 59 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.de.po: 91 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.es.po: 94 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.fr.po: 94 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.id.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.it.po: 94 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.ja.po: 69 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.nb-no.po: 57 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.nl.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.pl.po: 29 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.pt-br.po: 95 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.pt.po: 95 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.pt-pt.po: 94 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.ro.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.ru.po: 27 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.sv.po: 70 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.ta.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.uk.po: 100 % translated debian-edu-trixie-manual.zh-cn.po: 75 % translated Quoting the po4a manual: "By default, a given translated document is produced when at least 80% of its content is translated. The untranslated text is kept in the original language. The produced documentation thus mixes languages if the translation is not complete. You can change the 80% threshold with the I<--keep> option described below. Note however that discarding translations as soon as they are not 100% may be discouraging for the translators whose work will almost never be shown to the users, while showing "translations" that are too incomplete may be troubling for the end users." If we should follow this standard minimal threshold for translation percentage to build a binary debian-edu-doc-$languagecode then we should stop building packages for da, nb-no, ja, and zh-cn and we should need to start building packages for Indonesian and Tamil. The po4a manual points out that this default threshold can be lowered if desired, citing the 50% threshold as an example. If we were to use this lower threshold, we would also have to build a binary package for Swedish and should not have to drop any existing binary packages. If this is agreed upon, I plan to make the necessary additions to debian/control in a few days to implement this last mentioned option in order to fix the bug mentioned above. Regards, Frans
