The wiki page content is outdated since years.

As far as the default network settings are concerned, I suspect you need
to use

  <ip address='10.0.0.1' netmask='255.0.0.0'>
  </ip>

instead of

  <ip address='10.0.2.1' netmask='255.255.255.0'>
  </ip>

(last valid for the Lenny release, iirc).
 
With your suggestion, the problem is solved and now the server connects outside.
 
Consider to update the page in case you can fix the problem.

We will try to do it.
