Hi, Mike. I do not have a printer to test with, but I notice that on my freshly booted Debian Edu Wheezy diskless workstation, cupsd is running. Can you test and check if this problem still exist in Wheezy? Is the problem related to the host changing hostname or something like that? If so, is it different for machines in DNS as opposed to machines without DNS entries? -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen
