rpc.statd is only needed with NFSv3. NFSv4 does not use rpc.statd anymore. Furthermore, NFSv4 does not need the portmap deamon anymore, either.
I am not sure about the performance improvement, never encountered a loss of performance. But having some ports less being open on TJENER is worth closing down the named services, isn't it?
