cleanup debian-edu-artwork
Debian-Edu/Skolelinux has already quite a long history. Over the years, much
code has been changed and adopted, often as quick fix or under pressure of time
before a release. This bug report is intended to start some "house cleaning" on
our code base, as long as there is enough time to test bold cleanup.
I think this is important to keep the code maintainable. Furthermore, it allows
newcomers to study it without the finding that the function they (after a
couple of hours) just understood, is never used since its call has been
commented 3 years ago. So in the end, work is much better focused on the
relevant parts and any time invested now pays off later.
The attached patch removes some code from debian-edu-artwork. It never run on
squeeze. I guess it is obsoleted since the following changelog entry:
* Change how kdm is configured to use the new /etc/default/kdm.d/
method instead of the policy breaking editing during
postinst. (Closes: #431699)
In addition, the edit-ini skript is not needed anymore and should be removed.
If someone who knows the history of the code gives his ok, I can commit the
changes.
Thanks,
Andi
