[Bug 1408] Diskless Workstation not working yet

http://bugs.skolelinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1408

--- Comment #33 from Petter Reinholdtsen <pere@hungry.com> 2010-01-11 13:35:45 ---
I believe I found the cause of failing USB disk handling and several other
problems with the diskless workstations. After some reordering of code
in ltsp-make-client, update-rc.d was no longer called after the enabling and
disabling of init.d scripts. This caused the wrong order to be used for boot
scripts, which in turn made hal fail to start because dbus started after hal,
and several other problems to cause a slow and confused boot.

The fix for this was just uploaded. A workarind for an existing installation
is to run

  chroot /opt/ltsp/i386 insserv -v

as root to order the boot sequence based on dependencies.
