This issue is still there.  Used a fresh lenny-test installation over PXE,
created a user and logged in with this user on a diskless workstation.

The user had a symlink from
~/.mozilla/firefox/debian-edu.default/cert_override.txt to
/etc/iceweasel/propfile/cert_override.txt.
