This report is somewhat obscured (or is it my dim wit?), however even after
reading http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Status/Lenny/SambaLDAP I have a few
questions:
Besids update to the schema (only reference to the mentioned attributes is
redefinition of sambaPasswordHistory)-
1a) What were the actual problems resulting from these changes?
1b) Where were these changes introduced upstream or in Debian?
1c) Where is the documentation for these changes? (I couldn't find any)
In the absence of documentation Daniel has done fine reverse engineering but-
2) Are all these attributes mandatory/required/desired?
If any is mandatory-
3) Why is only the upgrade an issue?
Adding new users with lwat_0.18~beta-2 doesn't write any of these attributes to
LDAP and since this is the official way for adding users it has to be
considered too.
Perhaps not all answers are known but clearing up some of the questions would
promote co-work on this issue and at least the answer to (1a) should be here.
