Hi there,
in preparation of an test release I would like to request to sync the
packages from lenny-test to lenny.
According to lenny_needs_love.html the following packages need to be
accepted to our lenny:
- consolekit, hal:
Fixing regressions in Lenny compared to our Etch (Terra) release.
Consolekit is fixed to be a real replacement for libpam-foreground in
the way that it only creates TAG files for users logged in locally.
The HAL package sets a umask mount option for *fat and similar
filesystems. This fixes a security regression, because remote users
would be able to read filesystems mounted by the local user of a
terminal server.
This packages would need to be updated in our lenny:
- debian-edu-config:
- Fixes Samba logins by adding sambaPwdLastSet attribute to users
added to LDAP by LWAT (modifies LWAT config option).
- Restrict 'DeviceAdded' and 'PropertyModified' messages send by HAL.
This prevents popup messages to show up on thin clients when a
removable media, like a usb stick, is inserted into the ltsp server
(the remote user can not mount it anyway).
- Fixes thin client booting by correcting DHCP filename option.
- debian-edu:
- Update Java recommends to Lenny's openjdk.
- Avoids fam to avoid problems with fam and nfs.
- Allows tftpd-hpa to be installed instead of atftpd.
- debian-edu-doc:
- Documentation is always best when up to date.
- debian-edu-install:
- Precedes tftpd-hpa's directory.
- Precedes hddtemp daemon to not start on boot.
- edu-ltsp-client-builder:
- Fix count of ltsp-build-client runs.
- Does not send errors to fd 1 as debconf (from d-i) listens there.
- sitesummary:
- Fix init.d script to depend on $syslog as sitesummary may use
syslog.
- Updates translations.
Some builds for amd64 and powerpc are missing. I suggest to wait on them
to arrive before syncing lenny-test and lenny.
If the buildds have problems I could provide binary uploads for
consolekit and debian-edu for amd64, ...
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Daniel
