Hi, in the last IRC meeting (minutes available at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Meeting/20071126) we decided to have another meeting on monday, the 3rd of december at 19 UTC, if we don't manage to release by then. And unfortunatly currently it looks like we don't manage, as some previously unknown bugs were reported to the BTS: 3 unfixed p2 bugs: http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1284 - looks like a hardware issue, really. I propose downgrading. http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1285 - needs more input from submitter, can probably be fixed by documenting solutions (like adding more ram, turning transparency off, etc) http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1287 - needs more investigation. and 3 rather important p3 bugs: http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1258 - seems to be reproducable with installing thinclientserver-profile (only) on i386 from dvd. http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1267 - i could reproduce it and will compare the logs with a successfull install of the same type from the same cd image after this mail http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1270 - should be closed (for new installations) soon. So only if we manage to fix/downgrade/document proper workarounds/confirm that they are unreproducable these bugs within the next 24h, we might release before monday 19 UTC ;-) But I think it's more realistic to assume, that we will take a _little bit_ longer. Esp. as we still will need some more time for testing, to see if we really fixed them and didnt introduced new ones. So maybe we will only have a meeting on monday to decide that we fixed all bugs, did enough testing and can party^wrelease! So there is still a _bit_ time to polish the press release at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/PressReleases/PressRelease_DebianEdu-3.0r1_Terra and a bit less time to work on the documentation at http://wiki.skolelinux.no/DebianEdu/Documentation/Etch/ or its translation in svn. cheers, Holger
