This problem seem to have been introduced when I removed the line
"TLS_REQCERT never" from /etc/ldap/ldap.conf. I'm not sure why it is still
required, as all LDAP clients have the public SSL certificate for the
LDAP server available in /etc/ldap/ssl/ldap-server-pubkey.pem.
I'm reinserting the line in the cfengine config, while we figure this out.
