[Bug 1205] New: debian-edu-etc-svk makes debian-edu-config.postinst fail

http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1205

           Summary: debian-edu-etc-svk makes debian-edu-config.postinst fail
           Product: Skolelinux
           Version: etch-alpha
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P1
         Component: debian-edu-config
        AssignedTo: debian-edu@lists.debian.org
        ReportedBy: daniel@rio-grande.ping.de

Morning,

when installing debian-edu-config /usr/sbin/debian-edu-etc-svk is started (with
init) out of the postinst maintainer-script. The second thing debian-edu-etc-svk
does (after cd to /etc) is to run aptitude to install two packages (svk and
expect where debian-edu-config also depends on).

The fun starts when aptitude calls dpkg which wants to lock its database. As
there already is one dpkg running (the one which let the maintainer-script run)
this does not succeed. As a chain reaction the original dpkg can't configure
debian-edu-config which also lets the installer fail (when installed through the
installer).

As the normal way getting debian-edu-etc-svk to run is to install
debian-edu-config and debian-edu-config depends on the two packages to be
installed by the aptitude run, maybe one idea to solve this problem is to not
run aptitude at all.

Greetings

Daniel
