Is the device readable from all thin clients?  This sound like a problem
I read about in KDE and Gnome, where all disk events are shown on all
desktops, independent of the fact that the user might not have access to
the mounted this.  I belive Ubuntu made some patches to Gnome to avoid
the problem.  I'm not aware of any fixes for KDE.
