Okay, Nigel, thanks for the Link.
They seem to be using an WLAN Bridge Device (abt. 50 Eu) connected to
both, the laptop's USB port and to its boot enabled wired NIC. The
notebook "believes" being booted over wired LAN whilst the traffic is
routed over the WLAN bridge. The device used seems to have the size of
a music cassette (MC).
