Hi Christian,

over all, I understand your arguments and mostly agree. Maybe a more 
constructive was discussing approaches that would hinder mere Knoppix 
users from reading that file. 

How about creating an encrypted loop device - maybe with hard coded 
key ;)

How about patching ldap and give it a backdoor for cipux/merging both 
tools etc. or using ldap caching tools (libnss?) ...

Most of those approaches apply sole obscurification without adding any 
extra security. But well, if it is just to keep out plain Knoppix 
users ;)
