I've tested the standalone installation with MOUNT=no in /etc/devfault/devfsd

kernel 2.6.11 works with many shells in konsole as expected
kernel 2.4.27 works with many shells in konsole as expected

ssh-login also works whith this adujustment to devfsd ...
