Because the resource requirements for a thin client is a lot lower
than for a thick client.

You must remember that the hardware availability of Norway is much
better than that of other countries, and to make sure those with
really weak machines have a alternative, we need to provide both.
Besides, having a more silent alternative is a good thing too. :)
