Kicker starts invisible

dear list,

this is rather a kde matter than a skolelinux matter, but as others 
might experience the same, I choosed this list for discussion.

one out of 14 clients (system: TS pr47 with daily upgrades) starts 
always without showing the task bar (kicker). 

- entering "kicker" in a console gives "already running".
- ps aux |grep <machine name>|grep kicker results in several entries 
"kdeinit kicker". the only way to fix the problem seems to be during 
the session by killing all running jobs detected (kill -9) and starting 
a new instance (enter "kicker").
- on next reboot / autentification (machine id = user id) the problem 
reocurrs.

=> guesses: maldefined settings or disfunctional termination at logoff

Another observation with kicker: sometimes the bar tends to shiver or 
flicker like swapping between two positions.
