I think we had this problem with some laptop at Orkdal VGS too. What I noticed,
if I remember right, was that discover finds the correct module, but hotplug
does not.

To solve this, I added a run of discover in the /etc/init.d/networking script,
so I was sure this was run before the net was started.

I also tried to change the configfile of hotplug to have it load the correct
driver, but didn't manage to get any change in behavior.
