Doug,I realize that schoolforge is trying to do much of the same thing. However, one of my main concerns is that on the software resources page, there are 8 or 9 distributions listed. Each is duplicating the efforts of the other. A basis of Debian isn't really a similar basis. But what if we all had the same base LiveCD? Then everytime we improve one, the others benefit directly and immediately. The basic changes would be some graphics and documentation/translation, etc. It's been mentioned that Debian would do well with a LiveCD for installation. Knoppix is great, but it leaves some residue config files that aren't so nice. And it is not as easily customized. Morphix provides a basis and simple insertion of the modules to instantly create a customized LiveCD. So I really love schoolforge, but what I'm suggesting is a further collaboration of efforts. I know it won't be easy, but schoolFORGE suggests a combining of efforts, not a dozen different distributions each doing their own thing. How much more could be accomplished if we standardized even further, but still maintained flexibility?
