LTSP war schon die richtige Quelle.

Wenn es tatsächlich Thin Clients wären, ginge es genauso wie direkt auf
dem Server.

Mit ziemlicher Sicherheit laufen die Rechner als Diskless Workstations,
sonst gäbe es die Probleme nicht. Per LTSP default ist 300 MiB RAM die
Trenngrenze zwischen thin und diskless.

(1) Die Verzeichnisse ebenfalls im Root-Verzeichnis der
LTSP-Diskless-Clients (vorgegeben /opt/ltsp/i386/) erstellen.
(2) Eine Zeile mit dem Inhalt (Beispiel)
'LOCAL_APPS_EXTRAMOUNTS=/srv/Templates' in der
Datei /opt/ltsp/i386/etc/lts.conf hinzufügen.
(3) (Optional) Einen Link wie 'ln -s /svr/Templates Templates' im
Home-Verzeichnis eines jeden Benutzers anlegen, um die Suche nach
Resourcen zu erleichtern.
