I have also seen this as a problem with dns, you might have to add your isp dns server under forwarders in bind. On older skolelinux, where dns was not in ldap, it was the file called /etc/bind/debian-edu/named.conf.options you had to edit. Not sure how to add that if you have a more recent version of skolelinux where dns is in ldap. What skolelinux version do you use?
