The info in bug #604 will give you an idea of how deep the 10.0.2.x

This little howto might help you a bit if you choose to use a different
ip-series,

But I really do recomment that you do not change the ip-series. Use a
firewall/router in front of the server, let it take ip from your
existing dhcp-net, and you must use this settings:
IP Address: 10.0.2.1
Netmask: 255.255.254.0
Broadcast: 10.0.3.255
Network: 10.0.2.0
and remember to turn of dhcp-server in this machine.
