Should be a great talk, and a great introduction to "Software Freedom" [1].

Please note the RSVP link does direct to meetup.com. If you are willing
to use meetup, please do so, as much of the RSVP workflow has been
automated, and it makes our lives a lot easier. If you want to attend and

Freedom in my Heart

Note: WE ARE MEETING AT CIVIC HALL!! We'll need names, and you will need IDs.

When Karen discovered she had a life threatening heart condition, the
last thing she expected was to have to worry about software. Now, with
a heart device implanted in her body, she has come to understand not
only how vulnerable medical devices are but how as a society we are
making critical choices about all of our software. Karen will talk
about the hacks which show how essential free and open source software
is and will discuss her professional and personal view of the issues
as a patient and as a cyborg lawyer.

Afterwards:
-----------------
Join us afterwards at The Storehouse Pub where we'll continue the
discussion over drinks and/or food. The Storehouse Pub is located at
69 West 23rd St, between 5th at 6th Avenues.

Program for Women) and is a lawyer, providing pro bono legal counsel
to the FSF, GNOME and QuestionCopyright.Org.
