The platform was around for a while, but noone seems to have tested the more
exotic (from nios2 perspective of a mostly embedded cpu) software packages on
it. The ABI should be therefore stable.

You mean putting nios2 into debian ? %^)

I am also CCing a few interested parties who've been digging in nios2 recently.
