Ben Asselstine (see Cc) is working hard to patch GNU i-i to support most
Debian i-i cmd line options and has submitted several times patches to
GNU i-i.

I have checked all sid packages for invocation modes and created a list
of the, and Ben confirmed that it will be no problem to support all
those invocations with GNU i-i.

As soon as GNU i-i supports these options I plan to take over i-i from
dpkg by providing a new package.

About a script to regenerate the dir files I guess we can ship that
together with the new install-info package.

Best wishes

Norbert
