RE: dpkg on Solaris?

Good to ear that someone also needs this !

I've some patches for 1.14.6 that may help you :)

Tell me if this is successful ?

Patches for Sun curses is not necessary if you manage to disable dselect...

Subject: dpkg on Solaris?

Greetings Michel,

I'm very interested in using dpkg on Solaris for the same reasons that
you outlined on the debian-dpkg mailing list.

I'm having difficulties getting it to build though, and was wondering if
you could share some of your expertise? I'm trying to build 1.13.25
(though, I see you're using 1.14.6 and that 1.14.7 is now out.. if you
know this will build better on Solaris, please let me know).

I'm using your configure options more or less:

> #!/bin/sh
> DPKG_ROOT=/opt/dpkg-utils
> SYS_ROOT=/oanda/system
> CC=gcc
> CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/sfw/include -I$SYS_ROOT/include"
> CFLAGS="-g -m32"
> LDFLAGS="-L/usr/sfw/include -L$SYS_ROOT/lib"
> ./configure --prefix=$DPKG_ROOT --without-gnu-ld \
> --disable-linker-optimisations --disable-nls --disable-rpath \
> --without-dselect --without-start-stop-daemon \
> --with-libiconv-prefix=$SYS_ROOT --with-libintl-prefix=$SYS_ROOT

But, when running 'gmake' I get errors finding obstack.h. Perhaps I'm
missing some dependencies, but I could really use your assistance if
you'd be willing to offer some help.

Many thanks for your time,
Jason Harley
