Bug#269500: dpkg: dselect's 'delete downloaded .debs ?' has wrong default
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.9.21
Severity: normal
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.10.23
release: testing
'delete downloaded .debs ?' has wrong default
after installing packages with dselect,
user is presented with question 'do you want to delete any
downloaded .debs'
(or something like it),
answer to this question defaults to Y ;
because dselect is sometimes slow on my machine,
and keyboard buffer is not flushed when this question is
asked,
this has caused me loss of a couple of hours of
downloads.
i would like this question to default to no,
because it is safest choice,
and because if inadvertently agreed to, it can be easily
undone.
current situation works by paying extra attention,
but is a bit clumsy and error-prone.
