It'd not what apt needs to work.
when dpkg exits, apt needs to know why it did so. When using command-fd, apt
wouldn't know what package caused the error.
The real solution, is to have another reporting fd, and modify dpkg not to
exit when there is a packaging problem, but instead report the error on this
new fd.
