Bug#213846: dpkg: SEGFAULT: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)

Severity: important

Priority set to important because system is left in a 'very bad inconsistent
state' in words of dpkg (see below).

dpkg segfaults when installing a new package+dependencies:

femto:/home/eric[0]# apt-get install octave
