I'm not an expert on this, but when I've seen this problem before,
the packager usually had to fix it.  If there was a file in the
directory, and your .postinst removed it (I infer this is what
happened--since I don't have the package installed, I can't check),
isn't it your responsibility to remove the directory as well?
