Bug#207289: dpkg-dev: dpkg-source -b fails with if read-only directory in upstream tarball
Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.10.10
Severity: wishlist
dpkg-source -b apg-2.2.0
dpkg-source: building apg using existing apg_2.2.0.orig.tar.gz
dpkg-source: failure: unable to rename apg_2.2.0.orig.tar.gz.tmp-nest/apg-2.2.0.orig' to apg-2.2.0.orig': Permission denied
[238/381]mh@darren:~/devel/cvsbp/apg$ ls -ald apg_2.2.0.orig.tar.gz.tmp-nest/apg-2.2.0.orig
dr-xr-sr-x 8 mh mh 4.0K Jul 30 13:47 apg_2.2.0.orig.tar.gz.tmp-nest/apg-2.2.0.orig/
upstream has made all files and directories in the upstream tarball
read-only´. dpkg-source fails with the error listed above, thus I
cannot use pristine sources for this release of apg.
The pristine source of apg-2.2.0.tar.gz can be downloaded from
http://q.bofh.de/~mh/debian/apg for your reference and
experimentation; the upstream tarball in the Debian archive has been /
will be re-packed to allow the package to be built.
Please consider adding code that handles read-only files in upstream
tarballs to dpkg-source.
Greetings
Marc
