Scenario:
$ LC_ALL=C sudo strace dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/doc-linux-html_2002.06-1_all.deb 2> trace1
(dpkg ends with a segfault)
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
$ LC_ALL=C sudo strace dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/doc-linux-html_2002.06-1_all.deb 2> trace2
(dpkg hangs)
