Bug#115553: dpkg: Bug verification

Followup-For: Bug #115553
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.9.19

Hi,

I can verify this bug - it also affects my system. dpkg occasionally
randomly segfaults for no apparent reason, but re-running apt-get after
the segfault won't segfault in the same place. It may segfault further
into the installation process, however ...

I'm running kernel 2.4.17 (+ xfs) on a k6/2 450. Nothing else segfaults
on my system either. I can start stracing apt-gets if you like (although
the output is _very_ large - just let me know what I can do ...). This
really needs fixing before the woody release, IMHO ... (even though it
may only affect a small proportion of users)

Cheers,

Timshel
