Known dpkg bug, it ignored errors in maintainer scripts. Fixed in CVS
already.

Never seen that on before.. can you reproduce that?

Does that still happen if you do "dpkg --configure -a", and if so can
you put your /var/lib/dpkg/status file online somewhere?
