Mine is closer to 4000 :) However, if you are going to do this, you might
as well decrease it further because of the number of packages is pretty big
anyway and we should minimise the number of compatibility breakages.

So perhaps something like

/var/lib/dpkg/info/f/foo.*

or

/var/lib/dpkg/info/f/foo/foo.*

insead.
