FWD: Bug#54137: slrn: future timestamps in tar archive
I've been seeing several packages have this problem lately. The machine this
package was built on has:
joey@kite:~>date
Wed Jan 5 11:28:19 PST 2000
Moreover, the latest timestamp in the slrn.deb is:
2000-01-03 16:35:07
So why is tar complaining about timestamps in the future? (I can't reproduce
the complaint, either.)

Similar things happened in the past, perhaps with this or perhaps
another package. I don't believe the cause was determined then, but,
before anyone asks, yes I am sure that it is presently before the date
in question and that my system's clock is not misset. (It is not August.)
