What happens is that one of the letters in "force-depend" is a command that is handled by dpkg-deb. So what dpkg does it invoke dpkg-deb with all the other options, including the -i. And dpkg-deb doesn't know about -i and rightfully gives an error. Still something that should be fixed though..
