Re: dpkg corrupting .list files
I looked at the files again, some contain alot of garbage and some just a CR
in the middle. I'm going to look into the badblock issue for sure. I'll get
back to you if I find out more.

That's weird. Are you sure you don't have a corrupted filesystem?
If not, can you mail the contents of 1 or 2 .list-files that dpkg is
complaining about?
