Bug#43002: dpkg: "[Press any key to continue]" actually needs Return/Enter.
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.1.6
Severity: normal
(I'm not certain whether it's dpkg or apt-get which is producing this
message. I think it's dpkg.)
When the "[Press any key to continue]" prompt appears, pressing the
space bar does not cause execution to continue -- the user must press
Return or Enter. Changing the message would suffice to fix the problem.
Actual command used was "apt-get install gcc". The new gcc (2.95-3)
has a warning message and prompts as shown above.
