Bug#27601: srange errors from dselect

Package: dpkg
Version: 1.4.0.30
Severity: normal

dpkg (or is it atp?) reacts strangely after an unsuccessful installation of
perl and xsiag. I go to Install, and I get this. I suspect it is not
normal. In particular, the "internal error" message makes me send this
report.

dselect
Updating package status cache...done
Checking system integrity...dependency error
Correcting dependencies...ok
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  xsiag
1 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
1 packages not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0b/4247k of archives. After unpacking 2405k will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n]
W: Couldn't locate an archive source for package xsiag
W: Couldn't locate an archive source for package perl
E: Internal Error, No file name for perl
Some errors occurred while unpacking. I'm going to configure the
packages that were installed. This may result in duplicate errors
or errors caused by missing dependencies. This is OK, only the errors
above this message are important. Please fix them and run [I]nstall again
Press enter to continue.
