Including Section: and Priority: values in .debs?

[I hope this is the right list for this topic.]

In early Jan 98, there was a discussion on debian-devel (Subject: please
upgrade your packages to current standards) about whether packages should
include settings for Section: and Priority:

Several good reasons have been pointed out for including these fields in
the debs. (E.g., if the package is not included in the Packages file,
dselect will still put it in a correct section.)

This brings up two questions:

 1. Should each package provide these values (i.e., should `Lintian'
report warnings about packages which don't provide these)?

 2. Should we turn on the `-isp' option on dpkg-gencontrol by default?

Thanks,

Chris
