You mean the Installation Guide, not the Release Notes.

| Since most USB sticks come pre-configured with a single FAT16
| partition, you probably won't have to repartition or reformat the

It looks to me as if this needs "(and) then" before "install", among
other fixes.  For instance, footnote 3 is:

| [3] Don't forget to set the "bootable" bootable flag.

which is probably trying to say:

  [3] Don't forget to activate the "bootable" flag.
