Package: release-notes
Severity: normal
I performed the upgrade from etch to lenny of course on the console and not in
a xterm. Nevertheless, the screen got blank during the upgrade after the
restart of kdm. I attribute that to the old version of the nvidia graphics
driver, I used which etch. No console was usable. I just waited until the hdd
led did no longer indicate any activity and restarted via magic system
request and continued the upgrade after the reboot. Therefore, I suggest that
a section is added that recommends to remove any proprietary graphics module
from the kernel before initiating the update.
Thanks a lot, lenny is great!
