You are right, section 4.8.1 is "things to do before reboot' ; so at
that point the user has upgraded udev, and 'vol_id' is substituted by
'blkid'

But an user may wish to update /etc/fstab before upgrading, so maybe we
may add a note, somewhere, about 'vol_id'.

(I personally, would prefer to change /etc/fstab to using UUID, then
rebuild the initramfs, then reboot to see if it works OK, then upgrade)
